WHAT??!?!

This tax cut thing is just getting outrageous.  My position is this:  Yes, the middle class needs to be able to keep our tax cuts, I don't think anyone is questioning that.  I also believe that unemployment benefits need to be extended, just for the simple fact that there are really almost no jobs out there to be had.  So its either Unemployment or welfare for many people, because they simply cannot get hired.  Not to mention the fact that minimum wage is so stupidly low that many people cannot live on it.  So that's where we are right now.

Now, we need to take into account the mitigating political environment that exists right now...  Lame duck session, and the republicans are REFUSING to discuss anything that will not go their way...  Basically, they are blackmailing the democrats.   Cool, no surprise there.  In addition, they are griping constantly about the wasteful spending, and the rising national debt, which  they do have a point about.  We DO need to get a plan in order on how we are going to handle that.  So...  decrease spending...  right?

Now, enter the tax cut deal:  Lets keep ALL of the tax cuts!  Sounds great, but how are we going to get those pesky democrats to vote for it??  I know!  We'll give them their unemployment extension!  Great, the White House is on board too.  Soooo, that another...  $800 Billion to tack on the national debt?  Alrighty then!  Sounds great!

Am I the only one at a loss here?
