We are all grown up now... The time for assuming that somone else will fix our mistakes is over. The time for a carefree, consequence-free existence has passed. I'm so tired of hearing my peers say "Its not my fault!" or "I only did it because ____ told me to/did it too!" or "I didn't know..." Time to get real, ladies and gents! Maybe it wasn't your fault, but that doesn't mean its not your problem to fix. Maybe its harder, maybe its more work, maybe it makes us look bad, but it is time to take control of our lives and our actions, becasue our time is here, now. Its no wonder the world sees our generation the way it does! By and large, and with only a few exceptions, we are professionals at passing the buck, the "not-it" gesture. Nothing is ever our fault, every situation was comendeered by someone else, and therefore, we had NO control over our actions. Its time for this to stop. Stand up and be responsible for something! You'll be surprised at how much more respect you will get for that than simply pointing to someone else... We will inherit the world and its problems soon enough, and saying "We didn't do it!" is not going to get us out of the problems that we face.
For the sake of PC, I know that this is not true of every person of my generation, but it seems to be becoming more and more common, and it is incredibly frustrating to me...
